Dear Parents and Students,
March is our annual random acts of kindness month. Over the past 15 years, we have held our Penny
Wars competition during this time. Throughout the competitions we have raised thousands of dollars to donate to various organizations such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Caring Place, and even individuals within our community battling life-threatening illnesses that are in need of help.
This year however we are asking for your support of 2 local organizations:
Call-A-Ride and Meals-On-Wheels.
The purpose of Call-A-Ride is to provide transportation to the elderly, disabled, handicapped, or those
unable to drive for medical purposes. Meals on Wheels provides nutritious meals to those within our
community that are in need of assistance. These organizations do great things to help serve our community and we hope that our students will become more aware of them by competing in this year’s Penny Wars to help raise money for them.
During our “wars”, advisory classes are competing against each other to raise the most money.
Throughout the 2 ½ week competition, classes can win prizes, or even be eliminated based on the amounts they raise during specific periods of time. No matter what the outcome, we all want to help make a positive difference for Call-A-Ride and Meals on Wheels.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office or any staff member. If you wish to
make a donation, pennies, dollar bills and dollar coins count as positive numbers for an advisory and silver counts as negative points for advisory classes. You may make checks out to “Hebron Middle School” and this may count as positive or negative points per your specified directions.
Thank you to everyone in advance for your support!
