Principal's Message

Matthew Beahm
MS Principal (Ext. 101)

Dear Parents, Students, and Visitors:

On behalf of the Hebron Middle School staff, welcome to the MSD of Boone Township and Hebron Middle School’s website, home of the Hawks! It is my privilege and honor to have been named principal of Hebron Middle School (HMS) in May of 2020. HMS serves approximately 280 students in grades 6 - 8. We were designated a “School to Watch” in 2012 and have been redesignated in both 2015 and 2018. This distinction is a national middle-level accreditation program that incorporates the importance of being academically excellent, developmentally responsive, and socially equitable in the middle school setting. Our award-winning advisory program interweaves social and emotional learning into each child’s day.  Our 6th-grade students have a mentor, who helps guide them as they transition from elementary to middle school. Our 7th and 8th-grade students in advisory strengthen their social-emotional learning through team building, communication, and community awareness to grow the “whole child”. We offer many extracurricular activities including various sports and clubs for all grade levels. Our Science Olympiad team qualifies annually for the state meet, and we often have students qualify for the state Geography Bee as well. Our band and choir students each year receive Gold ratings in ISSMA events. All the while, athletic teams continue to succeed on the playing court or field. There is much to be proud of at Hebron Middle School, as our students continue to soar!

Academically, HMS takes great pride in the educational offerings we have, including Spanish 1, Algebra 1, and Geometry for HS credit. Our professional learning communities (PLCs), allow for our highly-qualified teachers to collaborate with each other, to discuss student success or areas for improvement while tailoring curriculum and instruction to meet the needs of all students. Our remediation and enrichment labs along with student resource time (SRT) allow us to strengthen and expand on a student’s understanding of course content and interests. To this end, I firmly believe the staff at Hebron Middle School works extremely hard to ensure the success of all students where the needs of all students will be met and exceeded, as our staff continues to soar!

Whether you are the parent of a returning HMS student, of an incoming 6th grader, or your family is considering a move to Hebron, the staff at HMS stands ready and eager to work with you and your child(ren) to provide a first-class education in a positive environment that allows every student to learn and grow. Creating this community of encouragement, achievement, and success involves cooperation from all stakeholders, including, but not limited to parents, families, and community members, every day; and that is our goal because, as Hawks, we soar together! We are excited to partner with parents and community members to watch our students realize their potential. I am honored to serve as your principal and I look forward to assisting in continuing the educational programs at HMS a success for all children, as #YouBelongAtHebron, where our school continues to soar!
